Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, will reportedly enter the Singapore market in 2024 to expand its international presence.
Premium Automobiles, an Audi retail dealer, has just been appointed as Zeekr’s distributor in a deal that was signed in late December, according to a report in Singapore’s The Straits Times today.
Zeekr’s showroom in Singapore will be completed in the Leng Kee Road area in the first half of 2024, the report said, citing a statement provided by Premium Automobiles.
These will be Zeekr-only facilities and will not be shared with Audi vehicles, which the company will continue to sell, Premium Automobiles said.
Zeekr will launch two models — the Zeekr 009 MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) and the Zeekr X urban SUV — in Singapore, with deliveries set to begin in the third quarter of 2024, according to the report.
Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau will be the first regions where Zeekr right-hand drive vehicles will be available, the report noted.
Zeekr was founded in 2021 and its first model, the Zeekr 001, was launched on April 15, 2021, with deliveries beginning in October 2021 in its home market.
The Zeekr 009, the company’s second model, went on sale on November 1, 2022, and its deliveries began on January 15. On April 12, Zeekr launched its third model, the Zeekr X, and its deliveries began on June 12.
Zeekr unveiled its European strategy on April 18, the first day of the Shanghai auto show, with the Netherlands and Sweden being the first two countries in which it entered the international market. On December 11, the company delivered the first European version of the Zeekr 001 in the Netherlands.
On July 10, Zeekr announced that it had signed an agreement with Israeli distributor Union Group to jointly establish a car distribution network in Israel.
On September 29, Zeekr entered into a partnership with AW Rostamani Holdings from the UAE, Wallan Trading Company from Saudi Arabia, Blue Lake Motors from Qatar, and Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons from Bahrain.
Zeekr said in October that it will begin selling the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 in Hong Kong and Macau in the second half of 2024, and plans to open three showrooms in Hong Kong and one in Macau.
