Retail penetration of NEVs in China was 41.3 percent in the November 1-19 period, and 34.8 percent year-to-date.

China’s retail sales of passenger new energy vehicles (NEVs) were 402,000 units from November 1 to November 19, up 37 percent year-on-year and up 2 percent from the same period last month, data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on November 22 show.
So far this year, China’s passenger NEV retail sales amounted to 6.356 million units, up 34 percent year-on-year.
From November 1 to November 19, China’s passenger NEV wholesale sales were 439,000 units, up 40 percent year-on-year and up 5 percent from the same period in October, according to the CPCA.
So far this year, China’s passenger NEV wholesale sales stood at 7.238 million units, up 36 percent year-on-year.
From November 1 to November 19, China’s retail sales of all passenger vehicles were 974,000 units, up 19 percent compared with the same period last year while down 6 percent from the same period last month, the CPCA said.
So far this year, China’s retail sales of passenger cars are up 4 percent year-on-year to 18.241 million units.
That means China’s NEV penetration at retail was 41.3 percent from November 1-19, and 34.8 percent so far this year.
In the first week of November — November 1 to November 5 — China’s average daily passenger car retail sales were 37,875 units, up 6 percent from the same period last year while down 27 percent from the same period last month, according to the CPCA.
In the second week of November — November 6 to November 12 — China’s average daily retail sales of passenger cars were 49,845 units, up 26 percent from a year ago while down 7 percent from the same period last month, according to the CPCA.
In the third week of November — from November 12 to November 19 — average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 62,291 units, up 21 percent from a year earlier and up 9 percent from a month earlier.
In terms of wholesale, China’s average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in the first week of November were 42,085 units, up 8 percent year-on-year and up 20 percent from the same period last month.
Wholesale sales in the second week of November were 52,754 units, up 27 percent year-on-year and up 1 percent from the same period last month.
Wholesale sales for the third week of November were 69,126 units, up 23 percent year-on-year and up 6 percent from the same period last month.
During November 1-19, China’s passenger car wholesale sales were 1.064 million units, up 21 percent year-on-year and up 7 percent from the same period last month. Cumulative wholesale sales for the year to date totaled 21.335 million units, up 8 percent year-on-year.
